Act Together / Agir Ensemble (Côte d'Ivoire)
Providing Essential Social Infrastructure
The African Diaspora Foundation partners with and financially supports Agir Ensemble in addressing four fundamental needs in rural communities in Côte d'Ivoire:
- Access to clean drinking water
- Sanitation and construction of functional latrines
- Waste management systems improvement
- Access to off-grid alternative energy
Ensuring Economic Sustainability
To guarantee the longevity of these infrastructures, the supported communities are helped to promote income-generating activities. The profits from these activities are dedicated solely to the maintenance and rehabilitation of the community's social assets.
Institutionalizing Community Dialogue
To embed this new social dynamic, "Act Together" makes available social mobilization tools designed to foster ongoing dialogue between community members, their partners, and local authorities.
The support from the African Diaspora Foundation is essential for our organization. It gives us the opportunity to scale up our operations and provide greater access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities to students in rural schools.
